JOHN HUTCHINSON says he wants to stay active in 2017 with two possible fight dates on his card following his win in Thailand last week.
Hutchinson won his Asian debut with an easy first round stoppage in Bangkok and now plans to follow it up with a swift next bout.
Hutchinson was fighting for the first time since a win over Sonny Whiting in July, having ended a near-two-year ring exile in May when he defeated Darryl Sharp at Villa Park
The 30-year-old was comfortable last week in Bangkok.
“It’s a great experience fighting here, compared to Europe or Boston,” said the ‘Buncrana Banger’.

“ The alarm bells were ringing when I landed and realised there was a different opponent. Nobody could speak English and no-one had any information for me. I just had to keep switched on and keep focussed – these Thai men are just machined if you stand and trade.
“I’ve been doing some great work at Unit 27 Conditioning Gym. I’ve felt great and I felt really strong in the ring. I was happy to bide my time and just box – I knew it was only a matter of time.”
Hutchinson had trained in Phuket before moving up to Bangkok in the last week ahead of the fight.
Hutchinson, who lost to Peter McDonagh for the Irish super welterweight title in March 2014, added: “I’m being kept busy. They’re talking about something on February 28 and they’re on about a fight in March in Perth. It’s one fight at a time, but I want to be busy this year and to keep building.”
