SINEAD JENNINGS and Claire Lambe came third in the B final of the women’s lightweight sculls at the European Rowing Championships yesterday.
In the German city of Brandenburg, Letterkenny woman Jennings and Lambe, who are set to compete at this year’s Olympic Games in Rio, came third in the B final behind Sweden and Great Britain.
Their form since making the qualification criteria for the Olympics, back in September at the World Rowing Championships, has been patchy with Lambe having been injured for a time.
The pair’s finish of third in the B final is ninth overall in Brandenburg.
They were fifth in the semi-final, behind Poland, Romania, Denmark and Great Britain, having been pipped by the Netherlands in their heat.
