THE Irwin brothers headed to Cadwell Park, UK for Round 6 of their respective BSB Championships.
Caolán on his R&R Yamaha 600, who his first British Superbike race at Cadwell last year, felt confident going into the weekend.
In the top two at practice saw a wet qualifying with the wrong choice of tyres went down in lap 2 so he was starting the race from the back of the grid. Irwin held his nerve and following a great start got right up into the mix finishing an incredible P7.
Teenager Rhys, on his factory Yamaha UK Supersport, showed some of the best lap times this season.
Sunday’s feature race saw him strong in fourth place when a freak mechanical ended his race. When asked Rhys replied that these are the challenges of racing.
The team can do all the prep work on the bike and then something small can go wrong and end your race.
The brothers are looking forward to the next race in two weeks’ time and would like to thank their sponsors Wes Regan, James Gallagher Northwest Customs, Denis Sheridan DS Waste, Motorcycling Ireland, Mondello Park and Dawn International.
