INISHOWN DUO Kieran McDaid and Matthew Byrne have been selected for duty for the Republic of Ireland junior international team.
Buncrana Hearts’ McDaid (pictured above) and Glengad United’s Byrne have been chosen as part of the squad by new Ireland manager Gerry Davis.
They will take on Northern Ireland in a friendly on Saturday-week, May 21.
McDaid played with Finn Harps last year before returning to his native Buncrana Hearts. Last May, he played for the Inishowen League as they won the Oscar Traynor Cup.
Last month, McDaid featured for the Irish Colleges and Universities team in a 1-0 win over Wales.

Byrne is one of the mainstays of the Glengad United team that is aiming for Inishowen League glory this Sunday when they face Clonmany Shamrocks in a winner-takes-all fixture at Shamrock Park.
