Martin Harley took a superb win on 5/1 shot Intrude this afternoon at Yarmouth.
Harley guided the five-year-old to a landslide 16-length win in the John Kemp 4×4 of Norwich Handicap over just one mile and three yards.
Intrude nosed in front with two furlongs to go and soon cruised clear, easing home to win comprehensively in the final furlong.
It was a noteworthy win especially given the distance of the race and the margin of victory.
Harley was riding for Stuart Williams and it was Intrude’s – previously out of David Simcock’s stable – first win for his new yard.
Trentagh man Harley and Intrude had been second, behind Kestrel Dot Com, last month at Yarmouth.
This afternoon, the 3/1 Berrahri was second and the 5/2 favourite Singapore Sling finished in third.
Last Thursday, Harley rode 3/1 favourite Zubaidah to victory at Lingfield.
