LETTERKENNY JOCKEY MARTIN HARLEY enjoyed another win aboard Goldream yesterday.
The 26-year-old rode the Robert Cowell-trained horse to victory in the Qatar Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp.
Harley and Goldream struck late for the win.
Goldream moved well throughout the race and when Rangali, last year’s runner-up, shot for home, Harley committed and nosed in for another Group One success with the 15/2 shot.
Back in June, Harley took victory on Goldream in The Kings Stand Stakes race at Royal Ascot.
“Outstanding – absolutely brilliant,” was how trainer Cowell describe Sunday’s win.
“I know he’s good, but to win two Group Ones in one year is pretty outstanding stuff.
“All year he’s been working brilliantly and just looks a different horse altogether this year.
“He’ll go to Dubai now. He was going to go to the sales, but we didn’t enter him and the owners decided to keep him.
” We brought him here for the trial but the weather wasn’t right and he didn’t run, but it’s paid off. I’m looking forward to taking him to Dubai.”
Harley had two wins at Ascot before heading to France. On Friday, he won on the Marco Botti-trained Sir Robert Cheval and on Saturday he took victory on Pelerin, another Botti horse.
