JOHN HUTCHINSON took his pro card to 7-2-2 after a points win over Sonny Whiting on Saturday night.
The ‘Buncrana Banger’ won a bruising middleweight contest after claiming each of the four rounds against the durable Whiting, who drops to 2-9-1 following the loss.
At the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre in Solihull, Hutchinson, boxing now out of the MGM stable, has recently returned to action after nearly two years off the canvas.
At Villa Park in May, he defeated Darryl Sharp.
Hutchinson has been in Thailand and Marbella since being beaten by Danny Shannon in September 2014, but has got back to winning ways.
Hutchinson looked for a fight-ending shot in the second round, but Whiting survived the danger to make it to the final bell of the four round joust.
Whiting was the opponent for the pro debut of Vijender Singh, a former amateur foe of Jason Quigley’s.
