A HOMECOMING reception for Seamus Coleman has been organised in Killybegs tomorrow night.
Coleman, who played in all four of the Republic of Ireland’s games at Euro 2016, captaining them against Italy and France, will be given a hero’s welcome back to his hometown.
The homecoming parade will begin at St Catherine’s Vocational School and will end with a reception at the Bayview Hotel.It is expected that Coleman will return sometime between 9 and 10pm.
The reception is being hosted by St Catherine’s FC, with whom Coleman played for as a boy before signing for Sligo Rovers.
The Everton full-back was given the captain’s armband on Wednesday night by Irish manager Martin O’Neill and the Donegalman gave a display of real passion as Ireland won 1-0.
Earlier today, Coleman and Ireland bowed out after a narrow 2-1 defeat by France in Lille and the defender spoke afterwards of his disappointment.
