LAGAN HARPS UNDER-18s advance to the FAI National Cup semi-final after beating Castlebar Town 5-0 this evening in Milebush Park, Mayo.

The girls played great football but were lucky with six minutes gone when Iona Cummins broke though the Lagan defence only to have her shot well saved by young Alisha Lawrence in the Lagan goal.
Lagan dominated for the rest of the half and should have capitalised on a great move between Zoe Green and Danielle McDevitt.
Amy Boyd was through on goal, but was denied by Castlebar ‘keeper Emma Sheeran.
In a goal fest between the 32nd and 38th minutes Lagan put four goals in the Castlebar net.
Amanda Callaghan crossed to Caoimhe Walsh to volley the ball to the net.
Two minutes later Orla Friel crossed to Amy Boyd to run past Amy Dowling and slotting the ball into the right of the keeper.
Almost immediately, Danielle McDevitt’s through ball to Amanda Callaghan saw her tap into the net.
Walsh got her second after a one-two with Ciana brogan.
In the second half Castlebar tried to press forward but Lagan defenders Aoife a Page, Chantel kelly, Áine Deasley and Zoe Green stood firm.
Orla Friel could have extended the lead only for her shot to hit the post.
Amy Boyd got her second after hard battling by sub Ciara Duffy to win ball in the middle.
Sub Bronagh Gallagher made an impact after her introducing with he shot just over and five minutes later she shoot was just win of the post.
Courtney Coyle linked up with Aine Deasley whose crossed was headed over by the impressive Danielle McDevitt.
Ciana brogan wrapped up the last attack running past five Castlebar players before having her shot saved by Emma Sheeran.
