IT WAS another close call – but we have a winner for the Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub Sports Person of the Week, in association with O’Reilly’s.
Finn Harps Under-13 prospect Shaun Patton is this week’s prize winner.
AS Finn Harps won the U13 National Shield last Saturday, Shaun Patton scored twice. Patton netted a brace as Kevin McHugh’s young Harps came from behind to defeat Shelbourne 3-1 at the Diamond Park in Ballyare.
The goals took Patton’s total to 22 for the season.
Patton claimed 288 votes, 33 per cent of the 878 that were cast.
The Finn Harps starlet edged out LYIT Donegal basketball ace Manny Payton, who scooped 269 votes.
Each weekly award winner will receive a kitbag, a jacket and a bobble hat, supplied by O’Reilly’s.
The award winner will be chosen via a public vote from a shortlist selected by our panel.
O’Reilly’s Sportswear was founded in 2017 by well-known Twin Towns sporting brothers Steven and Martin O’Reilly.
