Former Finn Harps goalkeeper Richard Brush is in hospital after falling ill after Cliftonville’s 3-1 win over Newry on Monday night.
Brush played the 90 minutes as Cliftonville overcame Newry at Solitude.
The 33-year-old was rushed to hospital after having what has been called a ‘serious incident’ on the way home.
“It is understandably a very concerning time for Richard and his family,” said Cliftonville manager Barry Gray.
“It was a serious incident on Monday night and thankfully he got to hospital for treatment as quickly as he did.
“Everyone at Cliftonville Football Club wishes Richard a speedy recovery and, while respecting their privacy, we offer our most sincere support to his family.”
Brush played for Harps during their 2016 Premier Division campaign and was a popular figure at Finn Park.
