Dale Gorman was part of the Steveneage FC team that defeated St Noets Town 2-0 in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.
The Letterkenny native, who is a first year professional, was part of a youthful team that included trialists, scholars and other fledgling professionals. Stevenege are under the management of former England international Teddy Sheringham.
Dipo Akinyemi scored twice for Stevenage inside of the first 20 minutes at the Premier Plus Stadium with the assist for the second coming from Gorman, who had whipped the ball across the St Noets’ six-yard line from the left.
Twenty-one-year-old Gorman, who joined from Letterkenny Rovers in 2013, is aiming to make the breakthrough this season at the Sky Bet League Two club, who open their domestic campaign against Notts County on Saturday, October 8. Before then, Stevenage continue their pre-season with a fixture against Nottingham Forest on Friday.
