IT WAS A golden day for Finn Valley AC’s James Kelly at the Celtic Games in Scotland.Â
The St Johnston teenager set a new Celtic Games record to take gold in the Under-16 shot-putt event in Falkirk.
The Royal and Prior student threw 17.68 metres, breaking the Celtic Games record set by his older brother John (17.56 metres) in 2011.
Kelly is coached by his father John and is on the rise in the sport, much like his brother.
In the Under-18 100m sprint, Janine Boyle took bronze, finishing in 12.21 seconds.
