ST EUNAN’S COLLEGE edged out Our Lady’s from Castleblayney in a high-scoring and entertaining Danske Bank MacLarnon Cup clash at Garvaghey.

In wet conditions, ‘Blaney started stronger, but Eunan’s came into the game and Louis Hasson netted a well-worked team goal in the 23rd minute.
Just before half-time, the Monaghan men bagged a goal of their own, from a rebound after goalkeeper Eoin O’Boyle saved a penalty.

Paddy mcColgan netted early in the second half for another St Eunan’s goal and a third arrived through Shay Doherty midway through the half.
While St Eunan’s always seemed in control, Castleblaney took the lead at one stage, but Eunan’s showed good character and an inspirational sideline score by Niall O’Donnell was the spur for the Cathedral town students to claim the win.
