GLENSWILLY HAVE BOOKED their tickets to the final of the RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta Senior Reserve Football Championship for the first time.
Adrian Glackin’s side overcame Four Masters this afternoon at MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey, 1-9 to 1-7, with Dermot McGinley’s penalty on 53 minutes proving vital.
It was Glenswilly who scored the first four points of the game but Four Masters goaled on 20 minutes. However, Glenswilly, with Caoimhin Marley scoring six times in all, went in 0-7 to 1-3 in front at the break.
There was little in it till McGinley – as he did against St Eunan’s in the quarter-final – held his nerve from the spot and Marley’s last point sealed thew win.

Glenswilly can now cast an eye on their final opponents as Saturday night’s semi-final at the Banks between Ardara and Gaoth Dobhair ended all square at 1-8 each.
It was the side from Pearse Park who led at half-time on a 0-5 to 0-3 scoreline, only for Padraig McGarvey to goal for Gaoth Dobhair at the outset of part two.
Eoghan O’Donnell netted for Ardara but the margins remained thin. Sean Boyle edged Gaoth Dobhair, who had Kevin Cassidy at centre-field, in front only for Paul Watters to level matters with a free six minutes before time.
The final will take place as the curtain raiser to the senior final between Naomh Conaill and St Eunan’s on Sunday, October 18.
