MICHAEL CANNING has been re-appointed as the Glenswilly manager for 2016.
Canning was installed without opposition at last night’s Annual General Meeting, held in the clubhouse at Pairc Naomh Columba.
Canning had been assistant manager to Gary McDaid when Glenswilly won the Donegal SFC in 2013 and again in 2014 when they reached the final, where they lost to St Eunan’s.

In Canning’s first year at the helm, Glenswilly topped their group, winning all three games against Gaoth Dobhair, Malin and Sean MacCumhaills, but they were knocked out by St Eunan’s in the quarter-finals.
“We’ll give it another go to try and get this cup back, but it seems to be getting harder every year,” Canning said.
“I’ve got no movement on the backroom team just yet. It’s quite early yet so there’s no major panic on that.”
Veteran player Gerard McGrenra was appointed the manager of Glenswilly reserve side at the meeting.
