TWO second-half goals saw Cockhill Youths upset the odds with a win over Glengad United at The Crua this afternoon.

Glengad had most of the possession but found clear chances difficult to create. Cathal McDaid broke on the left and his deep cross found Stephen Mclaughlin who fired wide from a tight angle.
Midway through the half a corner was flicked on at the near post to Michael Byrne but he fired over the bar.
Cockhill responded on 36 minutes with a Bradley Callaghan free kick which Kevin Mclaughlin saved well. Glengad upped the tempo but two great saves from Michael Owen Doherty kept the game scoreless at the break.
Firstly he denied Conor Barrow after McLaughlin had crossed from the right.
Christopher McLaughlin beat a defender and fed Barrow who picked out Patrick McDermott on the edge of the area but his effort was tipped round the post by O’Doherty.
On the restart it was the visitors who surprisingly were in the ascendancy. Michael Noone advanced to unleash a 20 yards effort which flashed inches wide of Mclaughlin’s left hand post.
They then shocked the home side when they opened the scoring on 57 minutes. Oisin O’Flaherty controlled a long ball and was given too much time to unleash a powerful twenty yards effort to the bottom corner.
Glengad tried to hit back and long range efforts from both Christy McLaughlin and substitute Seamus Doherty were not far off the mark.
Cockhill increased their lead after a defensive pass was intercepted and Conor Allen hammered the ball low to the bottom corner from just inside the area.
Cockhill were content to sit back and absorb the pressure with the home side restricted to long range efforts which failed to trouble Doherty and the visitors caused a huge shock here.
