Glengad United, last season’s Knockalla Caravans Senior Cup finalists, will get a bye into the second round of this year’s competition.Glengad had been set to welcome Clones Town to The Crua tomorrow in a first round tie, but the County Monaghan side informed officials today that they would not be traveling to fulfill the fixture.
Shane Byrne’s team lost out to Cockhill Celtic in last year’s final at Maginn Park and will be looking for a lasting run this time, too. This week, it was confirmed that Seamus Houghton and Cathal McDaid had been added to the Glengad squad, but their debuts will have to wait for another week.
Four of the first round ties will take place tomorrow: Drumoghill FC v Bonagee United; Swilly Rovers v Cockhill Celtic; QPS v Derry City Reserves; Greencastle FC v Monaghan Town.
