BURT’S GEORGIE KELLY was on the double as UCD defeated Finn Harps today in a pre-season friendly in Dublin.
UCD 4 Finn Harps 2
Kelly, who moved recently from Derry City to UCD, struck twice in the first half as Harps fell to defeat.
Darragh Black from Milford played the second half for the Dublin side at Thornfield RFC, adjacent to Belfield, this afternoon.
New signing Sean Houston hit a brace for Harps, but it wasn’t enough to give Ollie Horgan’s team the win.
Houston, who has made the move back to Finn Park having spent some time at Bray Wanderers and Derry City, opened the scoring after just two minutes.
Kelly drew UCD level and Gary O’Neill’s penalty in the 36th minute put Collie O’Neill’s team in front.
Kelly headed home soon after to make it 3-1 at the interval.
While Houston pulled one back for Harps early in the second half, Samir Belhout secured the win for the hosts.
