THERE WAS PLENTY of reason for the Donegal ladies and management to celebrate at the Division 2 Lidl Ladies Team of the League Awards at Croke Park.
Manager Michael Naughton was named as manager of the month for May, while Yvonne McMonagle (pictured above) won the Player of the Month.
[adrotate group=”66″]The Glenfin forward, in the colours of Ulster, won the MMI Interprovincials Player of the Tournament Award and also helped Donegal to the Lidl Ladies NFL Division 2 title, with victory over Westmeath.
Donegal had five players on the Division 2 Team of the Year – Carndonagh duo Teresa Doherty and Deirdre Foley are named respectively at right-corner-back and left-half-back with Moville’s Ciara Hegarty placed at centre-back and Niamh Hegarty at centre-forward. McMonagle is left-corner-forward.
[adrotate group=”46″]The awards were presented by Aoife Clarke, head of communications, Lidl Ireland and Marie Hickey, President of Ladies Gaelic Football.
The Lidl Teams of the League were presented at Croke Park with 60 players recognised for their performances throughout the 2016 Lidl National Football League Campaign.
