THE GAA has announced that all activity, across all of its codes, has been suspended for a two-week period in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
All activity between midnight tonight and March 29 (inclusive) has been suspended at club, inter-county and educational levels.
A total of 21 senior inter-county games were pencilled in for this weekend – including Donegal’s Division One meeting with Tyrone in Ballybofey.
The GAA considered playing games behind closed doors, but this afternoon the Association confirmed its stance.
The suspension of activity is to include all games, training and team gatherings at all ages and all grades.
“We will continue to liaise with Government officials and review the situation between now and the end of the month, assessing the impact of these measures on our competitions,” the GAA said in a statement.
“In the meantime, the Association is encouraging all members to continue to follow the guidelines which have been provided by the health authorities.”
