Donegal Adult Guidance and Information Service offers impartial and confidential information, advice and guidance on the education and training options that are available to you.
The aim of the service is to support you to make the right decisions about returning to education and training and to help you make those decisions within the context of your wider life.
Some people return to education to explore hobbies or special interests. Others want to learn more so they can help their children with school work. Many want to develop new skills to improve their job prospects or develop a new career. Whatever your reason Donegal ETB’s Adult Guidance and Information Service is here to help.

Raphoe Boxing Club
The winners of the Clubs annual Christmas draw were as follows, 1st Prize, Oven Ready Turkey sponsored by Ciaran’s butcher’s was Veronica Mc Elhinney, Manorcunningham, 2nd Prize bottle of whiskey and Christmas cake sponsored by Christy O’Donnell was Orla Mc Gurn, Strabane, 3rd Prize bottle of vodka and tin of sweets sponsored by Gerard Keaveney was Sammy Whyte, Letterkenny and 4th prize was hairstyle voucher sponsored by Hair by Leonard was Conan Mc Crory, Ballindrait. A sincere thanks to everyone who supported this annual fundraising draw.
The club is now re-opened after the Christmas break and next up for the club boxers will be the Donegal Open championships that will take place in Letterkenny Gym on Saturday and Sunday 12th & 13th January when a total of 10 boxers from the local club will be entered for these championships. On Thursday 31st January the Raphoe team will travel to the Aston Villa Football Ground, Birmingham to take part in a major tournament on Friday 1st February in the Holte Suite. A party of 20 will make this trip, 15 boxers and 5 officials and more on this major event will appear in the local press in the coming weeks.
Toddler Group
Little Smiles with Big Dreams Toddler Group will meet every Thursday from 10.30am to 12noon in the Presbyterian Hall, Meetinghouse Street, Raphoe. Anyone who is in the care of a child-parent(s)/guardian/aunt/uncle/child-minder or grandparent is welcome. Toddler groups are a great way to enhance your little one’s confidence and meet others of similar age. A light snack is provided for the kids while adults can enjoy a wee cuppa and chat! Cost €2 per family.
Craft class
Our craft class meet every Tuesday morning from 10.00 – 12.00. Come along and have a go at crafting in a relaxed and friendly setting. New members welcome any time! Classes cost €3
Helping Hands Scheme
Do you live alone or are no longer in a position, due to age or disability, to carry out odd jobs? Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme have a helping hands project were odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc. Only outdoor work is permitted. Women’s Group
Raphoe Family Resource Centre Women’s Group meet every second Monday at 8.00PM in the Volt House, Raphoe. Contact Laura for more info on 074 9145796. New members always welcome, come along and enjoy a cuppa and a chat with other women!
50/50 Bonus Ball
There was no winner of the bonus ball so the jackpot rolls over to this week! To enter the Bonus Ball Draw please call into the Centre in The Volt House before Saturday of each week. Good luck!
Raphoe Walking Group
Raphoe Walking Group meet every Thursday morning at 10.30am, here in the FRC. Come along and join the group for a walk and a cuppa!!
Community Banker
Our resident Community Banker Eve Curran will be available at the Volt House on Friday mornings from 10.30AM – 1.00PM for all your banking queries! The mobile bank will be available at the usual times.
Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch. Slim R Us
Slim R Us takes place every Tuesday at the Volt House from 5.40 – 6.40PM. €6.50 per session.
Raphoe Friday Club
The Friday Club meets every Friday morning in the Volt House from 10.30am-12.30. We would like more in our community to come along and be a part of the Group. There will be events organised over the summer so come along and join in the craic! Refreshments are also provided. Transport is available on Friday mornings and if you require this please phone 0749145462 and arrange.
