Some 321 participants took part in today’s Donegal Half Marathon – here are the full results.

Letterkenny AC’s Ciaran McGonagle won the Donegal Half Marathon, held around Letterkenny and New Mills, in 1 hour, 15 minutes and 56 seconds.

Marty Lynch of Milford was second in the men’s racd in 1:16:55 with Gavin Crawford of Letterkenny 24/7 third in 1:16:55.

LAC’s Monica McGranaghan was the leading female, finishing in 1:29:24.

Author of 'Boxing In Donegal: A History (2021)' - the definitive history of the sport in County Donegal - and 'Relentless: A Race Through Time', the 2019 memoir of former Irish Athletics Team Manager Patsy McGonagle. From St Johnston and now based in Letterkenny, Chris was a nominee for NUJ Sports Journalist of the Year in 2010. Honoured by the Donegal Boxing Board in 2016 for his coverage on the sport.
