There was a strong Donegal connection on the Sion Swifts Ladies team that clinched the Foyle Cup last night.
Sion overcame North West Super League leaders 2-1 in the final at Moville.
Irish underage international Amy Boyle Carr netted her third goal of the week in the final. The Glenties teenager has been in flying form and bagged an excellent goal in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Derry City, as well as netting in a 6-0 victory over Greencastle on Wednesday.

In last evening’s final, Boyle Carr broke through to get onto the end of a Chloe McGlade pass to fire home from close range.
Boyle-Carr fed McGlade to tee up Geny Dicker for the second Sion goal. Illies pulled one back, but Sion held on.
In the 2-1 win over Derry at Drumkeen, Boyle Carr scored a sumptuous strike and Letterkenny woman Julianne Herrity was also on the mark.
Herrity missed the final as she heads back to America today to take up a coaching position at Carson Newman University in Tennessee where she starred as a player in recent years.
Sion were in Moville again for a 6-0 win over Greencastle. Boyle Carr and St Johnston woman Tyler Toland were among the goals in that win for Sion.
Raphoe’s Zoe McGlynn, Convoy’s Niamh Mailey and Manor woman Ciana Brogan were also key members of the Sion side.
This evening, there will be a big Donegal presence in two of the main finals.
Kildrum Tigers Under-19s are in the U19 final and take on English side Norwich City at Ardmore at 7pm. Kildrum defeated Derry City on penalties last evening after a 1-1 draw with Davy O’Brien on the mark for the Station Road outfit.
Anthony Bogle’s goal gave Johnny McGinty’s team a 1-0 win over Newtown on Wednesday following a 5-2 win over First Choice Soccer on Tuesday when Michael Brown (2), O’Brien, Dean O’Donnell and Matthew Duffy netted.
Kildrum began with an 8-0 win over Craigavon City on Monday. Duffy (2), Paddy Carr, Shane Brennan, Aaron McCready, Brown, Bogle and O’Brien were on the mark in that one.
In the Under-17 Foyle Cup final, Derry City will face the Inishowen League.
The Derry side is backboned by several Donegal natives including Finnian O’Donnell, Matthew McLaughlin, John Matthews, Oran Brogan and Eoin Logue (Swilly), Adam Curran (Buncrana), Carrigans man Adam Green and Newton’s Shane Monaghan.
