Na Ceithre Máistrí Set Dancers won the title of County Champions at the 2016 Final on Friday at Scór in Glenswilly.
They have now qualified to the Ulster semi-final which will take place on Saturday February 13. They are an inspiration to watch on stage, The happiest, most energised dancers in town and they lifted the spirits of everyone on a cold, stormy Friday night in Glenswilly. We wish them continued success at Ulster level where they will compete against Derry, Down and Tyrone in Ulster semi- final.Well done to all involved.
Underage hurling: It was the first competitive outing of 2016 for our U10 hurlers and camogs on Saturday 30th January. The boys and girls competed at an indoor hurling blitz at Letterkenny IT. They enjoyed a number of competitive and fun games against St. Eunan’s and Gweedore. They dusted off the cobwebs as they quickly got into the full swing of things and experienced playing time in all positions.
Oisín óg Gallagher poached a number of goals on the day while Holly Roarty enjoyed some fine long range scores. Aoife Cox, Laura and Emma Sweeney enjoyed goals galore in a thrilling contest against the Gweedore girls. Colm McDermott was solid in defence all day dealing with any threat and executing some great long clearances .Patrick Craig covered every inch of the hall taking on players with silky skills and passes. Cillian Sweeney enjoyed the goal of the day when striking the ball on the volley and had the highest block rate also.
Overall the boys and girls enjoyed competitive matches played in a positive fun and enjoyable spirit. They all tackled and blocked superbly while striking the ball on both sides and enjoyed some lovely goals. They now look forward to three more indoor blitzes throughout February.
