MARTIN LAUCHLAN TOOK charge of East Kilbride for the first time tonight – a 2-1 loss to Whitehill Welfare at K-Park in the Ferrari Packaging Lowland League.
Lauchlan (pictured above by East Kilbride FC), now 35, signed for Finn Harps by Felix Healy in their Premier Division campaign of 2005.
Following the Derry man’s sacking following a 1-0 loss to Longford Town, Lauchlan played under Anthony Gorman for the remainder of the campaign before leaving for Elgin City in 2006.
In his playing career, midfielder Lauchlan, from Glasgow, lined out for Patrick Thistle, St Johnstone, Dumbarton and Stenhousemuir before lining out for Harps.
Then, following Elgin, he played for Bellshill Athletic and Petershill until 2010 and managed Rossvale Juniors. Lauchlan’s brother Jim played for Sligo Rovers in 2010.
On Saturday, East Kilbride have a chance of revenge when they take on Whitehill Welfare away from home.
