IT’S A BIG NIGHT AT The Moss tonight as Drumoghill FC as Michael Lynch’s team look to take the point they need to be crowned Donegal League Champions for the first time in 21 years.
Drumoghill need just a point from their home game against relegation-threatened Gweedore Celtic to clinch the silverware.
There are similarities from that May evening in 1995 when the ribbons were last knotted at The Moss.
It was a Friday evening, May 12th 1995, when they were last crowned kings.
Then going as Drumoghill Celtic, the Danny McConnell-managed team defeated Ardara Town 5-1 at The Moss to cork the champagne.

Doherty and Paddy Ward contributed 60 goals between them that season.
Now the manager, Lynch was a signed player that season and played a few times, as did Jason Gibson, the recently-departed manager of Swilly Rovers.
“Ardara were a big worry because they were on the chase and you never knew what kind of a team they’d land with,” McConnell says now.
“I felt we were a year late in actually winning the League. Drumkeen won it the year before and we did the double over them.”

They rejoined the ranks of the Donegal League in 1988 having played for a time in the Derry and District League. They spent three seasons in Division 3 and lifted themselves to the top flight in 1992.
Drumoghill did the double in 1995, also defeating Keadue Rovers in a replay of the Sportsmans Cup final.
