THE weather mightn’t have been as nice as it could’ve been for the conclusion of the 2015 Track & Field season, but Finn Valley’s athletes excelled at the Irish Masters National Championships in Tullamore.
Senator Brian O’Domhnaill (pictured above by Kieran Carlin) won the walk 3k and Bosco Reid – an osteopath based now in Buncrana – took gold in the hammer and placed second in the shot.
Eileen Maguire was the winner of the shot and Catriona McGranaghan finished second in the 800m and 1500m. Similarly, Mary Martin was second in the 3,000m.
As well as that, Noreen Martin was fourth in the 800m, Dermot McElchar was sixth in the 5,000m. In the same event, Shane McNulty was 10th and Barry Chalmers 15th. Garvin Boyce was 10th in the over-40s. As a 4 x 400m relay team, McElchar, McNulty, Chalmer and Boyce were fourth overall.
