The Finn Valley Athletic Club Stephens Day 5k goes ahead once again in just five weeks’ time.
It is the longest successive road event in the north-west, beginning as it did in the early 70’s and despite weather challenges on a small number of occasions the show has always gone ahead.
There has been many an exciting day and memorable occasions and Olympic champions Mo Farah from the UK and Kenya’s Vivial Cheryuiot have graced the event and there has been many notable personalities getting the event underway indeed the star time of the event this year goes to a new start time of 12 noon .
Entry on the day or at reception Finn Valley in the intervening weeks. which is recommended if one is to avoid the inevitable queue.
An abundance of prizes and refreshments the norm with everybody welcome for what is above all a community event.
The honorary starter on the day will be announced in coming weeks. In 2014 it was local rugby international Larissa Muldoon .
