Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan could have a couple of new faces in his squad tonight as they head to Drogheda United.
Harps face their fellow relegation strugglers at United Park in a game that could have massive implications for the survival battle. Harps go to Louth with just a point to spare on Pete Mahon’s Drogs, who won the earlier meeting of the teams 2-0 in Ballybofey.
Horgan has been on the prowl for new talent since the opening of the transfer window.
It is believed that midfielder Thomas McBride could be among the Harps matchday squad for the game.
Previously, McBride played for Harps in the 2012 and 2013 seasons before leaving the club in the summer of 2013.
The 25-year-old has played for Derry City and Institute and also had a spell at Kildrum Tigers.
Harps were also understood to be awaiting international clearance to enable a French import, who plays as a striker, to line out.
A number of players had been on trial at the club in recent weeks.
“We’re still looking and still speaking to players,” Horgan said earlier this week.
“Whether we’re close to signing…I don’t know what close is anymore!
“There are a few that aren’t dead in the water, if I am to believe what they’re saying to me. There are a few still hanging out there.”
