Davy O’Sullivan and Kevin O’Connor scored the goals as Longford Town overcame Finn Harps at the City Calling Stadium this afternoon.

Longford finished bottom of the pile in the Premier Division and will ply their trade in the First Division in 2017, but the Midlanders had the measure of Harps, who included Jonny Bonner, one of their new signings, from the start, while Damien McNulty also began here.
Following a 2-1 win over the Inishowen League in Buncrana on Tuesday night, Harps will have been disappointed to lose out here.
Tyrone native Caolan McAleer went close on two occasions for Harps, but Longford hit the front when O’Sullivan finished after Ciaran Gallagher denied Jake Kelly.
O’Connor converted a Cody Mulhall cross to double the lead and condemn Harps to defeat.
