Finn Harps have confirmed they will be supporting the rule changes that will be put to this Saturday’s FAI EGM.
The Ballybofey outfit will also be backing the proposed governance changes that will be put to delegates at the upcoming FAI AGM.
The FAI and the 20 League of Ireland clubs have agreed on a working group to develop a new strategy for professional league football in Ireland.
The FAI AGM is just two weeks away and many believe it could be the most crucial AGM in its 98-year history.
Club Chairperson Sean Quinn says the proposed changes will be positive for League of Ireland football going forward.
“We have to move forward and Finn Harps will be supporting the changes that are being proposed at the EGM and AGM and our delegates have been mandated to vote for the proposals,” Quinn said.
“Let’s hope that this is the start of an exciting further for soccer in the League of Ireland.”
The 20 league clubs met over last weekend at FAI headquarters to discuss the future of professional football here.
