FINN HARPS are looking for one big push on their fundraising plans to complete necessary works to enable football return to Finn Park next month.
Almost €31,000 has been raised via a GoFundMe page set up to help make Finn Park Covid-19 complaint.
The 2020 League of Ireland season resumes next weekend with Harps away to Shamrock Rovers on Saturday, August 1.
Harps’ first home game back at Finn Park is slated for Tuesday, August 4, when Shelbourne are due in Ballybofey.
New temporary accommodation was installed at Finn Park this week. The portacabins installed will encompass new dressing rooms for the away team and match officials with a medical room and ancillary facilities also housed in the new blocks.
Other necessary works have to be carried out to the existing dressing room area while Harps are also hopeful of sourcing new dugouts in time for the re-start.
While the initial €30,000 target has been surpassed, Harps have raised the bar to €35,000 to enable the final pieces of their re-start jigsaw to be added. To donate, click here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/hometofinnpark
Some of Donegal’s best-known sporting celebrities have lent their voices to the ‘Bring Football Home’ campaign when they appeared in a promotional video.
Finn Harps director Ivan Harvey said: “We are extremely grateful to anyone and everyone who has supported us in this fundraiser so far.
“We have the new units added, but we still have some way to go before the ground is finalised and ready to host a match.
“We would appeal for the people to give this one final push now to allow us to finish these works. The people have rallied massively for Finn Harps in recent weeks and we appreciate their backing.
“Any donation, big or small, will be very much welcome now as we aim to get Finn Park into the best shape possible for Tuesday-week.”
