MARK FARREN WILL be honoured by Finn Harps and Derry City at Friday night’s SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game at Finn Park.
The former Harps and Derry player passed away in February, aged just 33, after a brave battle with a brain tumor.
In 209 games for Derry, Farren scored 113 times, a club record.
Derry have retired Farren’s number 18 shirt while the new stand at Brandywell Stadium is to be named the Mark Farren Stand.
Farren made one appearance for Harps, as a substitute in a 4-1 defeat to Longford at Flancare Park in the 2000/01 season.
He is fondly remembered at both clubs.
A minute’s silence will be held before Friday’s game and Farren’s widow, Terri Louise, will be a special guest.
