JOSH MAILEY is expected to line out for Derry City in a friendly this evening against Institute at Brandywell Stadium, with growing fears that the Letterkenny man is on the verge of a move away from Finn Harps.
The 24-year-old Letterkenny man is comfortable in several positions with wing-back and centre-midfield his regular berths at Finn Park.
Mailey played 30 games for Harps in their promotion-winning campaign and scored two goals, including the second goal in the 2-1 First Division play-off second leg win over UCD in Ballybofey.
Mailey had been linked with a switch to Irish League side Dungannon Swifts last winter, but was persuaded to stay at Harps.
Mailey first joined Harps from Letterkenny Rovers in 2011. Having returned to Rovers, he was coaxed back to Harps by Peter Hutton and has been there since, with a total of 70 appearances to his name.
New Derry City manager Kenny Shiels has wasted no time in getting his teeth into business and Mailey is one of a number of trialists who will feature in this evening’s game.
