The Finn Harps U15s are on the road to the capital today to play Bray Wanderers at St. Joseph’s Boys’ Sallynoggin (kick-off 2.00pm).
Paul McBride’s youngsters have had a mixed start to the season so far and go to the capital in search of their first three points of the Elite Phase.
A late Éanna Clancy equaliser gave Conor O Grady’s Sligo Rovers a share of the spoils in a match where the young Harps played their best football of the year.
McBride, although disappointed with conceding in the closing stages of the match, felt that there was so many positives to take from the game.
He said:“The boys were very disappointed after Saturday’s match. We know we let a result slip but when we spoke about it at Tuesday’s training, there were plenty of positives to take from it. We’ll look to improve in certain areas ahead of the weekend.
“We’re going there with a full squad for the first time this season so that’s a massive positive for all of us” McBride added.
Today will see the beginning of a busy week for the 15s with the O’Neill’s Foyle Cup starting tomorrow (Monday 22nd).
Their participation in the O’Neills Foyle Cup will see them play Bertie Peacocks, Carlisle United and north-west neighbours, Institute FC, in the group stages on Monday to Wednesday.
The knockout and placings will take place on Thursday and Friday.
