The Finn Harps U13s are back in action this evening with a home game against Longford Town in Ballybofey (kick-off 7.30pm).
Kevin McHugh’s boys will be aiming to take advantage of the familiar surroundings of Finn Park to bag the three points against the Midlanders.
When the two sides last met at Abbeycarton at the end of May it was the Harps U13s who came away with a big result after a commanding 3-1 victory over the hosts.
A late Shaunie Bradley goal added to two first-half goals from Aaron McLaughlin sealed the win for McHugh’s side.
Harps made a flying start and opened the scoring after only 50 seconds courtesy of McLaughlin and the former Mulroy Academy player doubled his side’s advantage before the hosts pulled a goal back before the break.
McHugh is pleased with the progress his squad had been making in recent weeks, he said: “The boys are getting close to the levels we are expecting of them. We played some great stuff last week against a good Sligo team.
“Longford are a good footballing side, so it should be an end to end stuff,” McHugh added.
Last Friday night at Finn Park, the Harps U13s came from 2-0 down to secure a share of the spoils against Sligo Rovers thanks to a brace of goals from Shaun Patton. Kick-off at Finn Park tonight is 7.30.
