After a disappointing result last weekend against Longford, Finn Harps U19s are looking to get back to winning ways when Joe Boyle’s side hosts Derry City in a local derby at the Diamond Park in Ballyare this evening (kick-off 6pm).
It’s a very busy period for the club in general with five senior matches in the space of a fortnight. That hectic schedule has opened the door for some of the U19 team to link up with Ollie Horgan’s squad to provide cover.
Jack Doherty was on the senior subs for the first time in a league game on Friday night for the Waterford game while Stephen Doherty came on as a late substitute.
Michael Gallagher started his second senior league game of the season but unfortunately, the Letterkenny man was forced off after just eight minutes with a serious leg injury.
That rules Gallagher out of this evening’s match against the Candystripes while goalkeeper Joe Boyle will miss the next six weeks with a shoulder injury.
Eoin McGing who has plenty of experience at underage level will now be the regular between the sticks.
Boyle’s boys aiming for a win at the Brandywell
The Finn Harps U17s are the visitors to the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium this afternoon to play Derry City in a Northwest derby (kick-off 2.00).
Declan Boyle’s boys have been on a decent run recently and are aiming to extend that to four games unbeaten this afternoon.
Last weekend the Harps 17s had a 4-0 victory over Longford Town in Ballybofey where Luke Rudden and Finnian O’Donnell hit the net along with the Black brothers Stephen and Conor.
Kick-off at the Ryan McBride Stadium is 2pm
