Joe Boyle’s Harps had been three-from-three, but Sligo inflicted a first defeat on them.
Harps got off to a disastrous start as Morley cut inside in the opening minute to drill past Lee McCarron in style.
Harps lined out without Simon McGlynn, who made his League of Ireland debut in last night’s defeat to Drogheda when coming in as a second-half substitute.
Boyle (pictured above, centre) was able to include Ciaran Kelly, Dylan McCroary and Gareth Doherty, who all saw game time in Monday’s EA Sports Cup game against Sligo.
Doherty drew Harps level in the 12th minute as his shot through a crowded area, after connecting with a McCroary pass, was deemed to have crossed the line.
Harps were on top, but Martin Walsh converted from 25 yards against the run of play to put the visitors back in front.
Sligo punished a pair of defensive mistakes as Mikey Place and Gary Higgins stretched the margin.
Substitute Corrie Lee Bogan pulled one back for Harps, but it wasn’t enough to inspire a comeback.
