THE DECISION TO throw the captain’s armband the way of Chelsea’s Diego Costa means a new leader in the Champions Travel Fantasy Premier League.
Deirdre Meehan’s ‘Hundingers’ collected 66 points in Gameweek 7, with Costa, as captain, accounting for 24 of that total, while Laurent Koscielny’s clean sheet and late winner for Arsenal at Burnley earned a further 15.
[adrotate group=”80″]Meehan is now on 430 points, which is 10 in front of second-placed Packie McGrath’s ‘@packiespunts’ – who had an impressive 73 points. As well as the aforementioned Costa and Koscielny, Dimitri Payet got 10 points for his wondergoal for West Ham against Middlesbrough.
Mark McGowan’s ‘Popcoppers’ earned 60 points and are in third place, thanks mainly to a decent educated guess where Roberto Firmino as captain took home 24 points in a total that now reads 424.
Fourth place is now the property of ‘Doppelgänger FC’ – the team managed by Ryan Kettle. With 57 points, Kettle’s team did well defensively with Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford  and Watford’s José Holebas taking six points apiece, while Costa was also captain. The team are now on 421 points.
Just two points behind after a modest 44 this week are Aidan McLaughlin’s ‘Cleverson’.
