GAMEWEEK 9 IN the Fantasy Premier League was one perhaps for the defenders.
Here at Donegal Sport Hub, we’ve a league in conjunction with Champions Travel and Deirdre Meehan’s ‘Humdingers’ are still top of the table.
She scored 48 points – on a week where points were hard to come by – with the ‘All Out Attack’ option played, allowing for a rather bizarre 2-5-3 formation.
Ironically, her two defenders – Kyle Walker from Tottenham (pictured) and Laurent Koscielny of Arsenal – both kept clean sheets.
[adrotate group=”80″]Overall, Meehan has 546 points and that makes for a 14-point lead.
Arthur McLoone is currently in second place now overall following a sound defensive weekend where his team, ‘alzirminu’ kept four clean sheets.
Goalkeeper Adrián from West Ham, Ryan Shawcross of Stoke, Koscielny and Spurs’ Jan Vertonghen didn’t concede to help McLoone to a total of 62.
[adrotate group=”80″]‘The Macs’ are managed by Alan McGettigan and they slip to third this week with 42 points. Philippe Coutinho’s 10 points in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over West Brom was the stand-out here as McGettigan’s team is now on 523 points.
Just two points behind that, with 521 each, are the sides in joint fourth place – Carole McGlinchey’s ‘its in the game’ and ‘Doppelgänger FC’, managed by Ryan Kettle.
McGlinchey picked up a fine total of 74 points, ably assisted by the decision to captain Sadio Mané of Liverpool. The former Southampton midfielder returned with 24 points with the armband.
