‘THE RACE’ MIGHT only be having its third staging but already the legend is growing.
The Race is a 250 km unsupported endurance event across the rugged landscape of north-west Donegal.
To finish competitors have to complete 15km of kayaking, 166km of cycling, 5km of mountain running and 64km of road and trail running.
Crucially, they must complete all this in under 24 hours. It is aimed at providing the ultimate 24 hour test of endurance.
The team are releasing a small number of additional spaces for The Race 2016.
You can apply for these final spaces by completing this form. A member of our team will contact you with details once we receive your application. These final spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The 2016 events rolls out of Gartan Outdoor Education and Training Centre on Saturday, March 5, with competitors running to Ramelton, kayaking onto Rathmullan before cycling Fanad Head and the Atlantic Drive onto Muckish Mountain.
There, there’s a scramble up and down the mountain that leads up to a second cycle around Bloody Foreland and back to Doohary. To conclude, it’s a marathon via Glenveagh to Gartan.
The course will be the same as in 2014 and 2015, although the kayak stage last year was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. See the route below …
“The course is tried and tested at this stage and now competitors can think about records or trying to beat their times on given stages from last year or the year before,” said event organiser David Burns of Sand2Snow Adventures.
Sean McFadden from Letterkenny won the 2015 event and Diane Behan from Waterford was the first woman below.
