Sweeney, who was wearing a Donegal GAA jersey, must have made a good impression as it was in fact Johnston who tweeted the photograph!
“I met Shaun Reddin and he remarked to me that I was a long way from home,” Sweeney told Donegal Sport Hub from Dubai today.
Reddin would’ve certainly recognised the jersey as he and his brother Conall are from Muff and are partners in Red Ray, the Hertfordshire-based company who sponsor Johnston.
Johnston is two-under par after day two, having shot 69 today and 73 yesterday. He’s a two-time winner on the Challenge Tour, having triumphed at both the Scottish Hydro Challenge and the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge in France last summer.
