The Swilly Seals had an early rise on Sunday. Swimmers were up at 4.30am to make the trip to Lisburn for the Templemore Open Minor Meet.
With just over 2000 swims taking place over the day the Seals made a serious impact throughout the day with a massive haul of medals and qualifying times gained.
In the first event of the day Orla Malseed, Riann Sheridan, Ellie Martin and Maeve Mc Clean won gold in the medley relay and later secured bronze in the freestyle relay with Sarah Robinson.
The boys relay team consisting of Shay Maloney, Luke Mc Guinness, Noah du Plessis and Cillian Murphy also secured gold in the medley relay and freestyle relay.
The second boys team with Senan Martin, Oran Mulligan, Philip Mc Gee, Dylan Singaroyan and James Cassidy won bronze in the medley relay and freestyle relay also.
In the 10 and under section Maeve McClean won silver in the 25m backstroke. Ita McGee bronze in the 25m freestyle. Ellie Martin silver in the 25m breaststroke.
Orla Malseed bronze in the 100m Individual Medley and gold in the 25m breaststroke. Luke McGuinness won bronze in the 100m Individual Medley and 25m freestyle and gold in the 50m freestyle.
Noah du Plessis bronze in the 25m freestyle, 25m butterfly and also bronze in the 100m freestyle.
Oran Mulligan won silver in the 25m breaststroke. Shay Maloney was on top form with gold in the 25m backstroke, freestyle and butterfly, he also claimed gold in the 100m Individual Medley, 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke and silver in the 100m backstroke. Shay picked up the award trophy for best boy for his outstanding results.
In the 13 and under section Leonardo Camachio won silver in the 50m Butterfly. Conor Shiels bronze in the 50m breaststroke.
Oisin Sheridan bronze in both the 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke. Cody Dunnion won silver in the 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly, and 200m individual medley and picked up gold in the 50m breaststroke. Ellie Maloney won silver in the 50m butterfly and 50m backstroke.
Katie McGee won bronze in the 50m backstroke and 50m breaststroke. Molly Nulty won silver in the 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 100m Individual Medley, she also took a gold in the 100m breaststroke.
Excellent swims with new personal best times were also achieved by Peter Coyle, Johnny Lambe, Ciara McDermott, Alicia Miranda, Isabell Miranda, Beatriz Miranda, Aisling Nulty, Eamon Russell, Eilish Russell, Aoibheann Sheridan, Chloe Shiels, Carla Shiels and Ellie May Temple.
This was a marvellous achievement for all swimmers showing grit determination and great team spirit throughout the long day of competition.
