A SECOND HALF goal from Patrick Gillespie proved pivotal as Naomh Muire beat the hosts at the Bridge on Saturday in the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta.

St Michael’s were missing their Donegal contingent and also also lost players to injury and despite mounting a offensive after the goal Naomh Mhuire held on to win by the minimum margin.
This was a typical early season encounter and the first half was nip and tuck although the home side were left to rue a number of wides.

The second half continued in the same vein with both sides cancelling each other out until Gillespie pounced to put the ball in the net, White added another point to push the lead out to four points.
The home side replied with points from Michael McGinley, Brian McLaughlin and Raymond McLaughlin and the missed a chance to square the game when shooting narrowly wide with the last kick of the game; but the men from the Lower Rosses held on to progress to the next round of the competition.
