Cllr Martin Harley has today announced that Ballybofey United will be receiving funding of €156,000 from Donegal Local Development Company (DLDC).
The money is set to be used by the soccer club for the improvement of key facilities for teams.
“I am delighted with this funding today for a soccer club which is at the heart of our local community,” said Fine Gael Councillor Harley.
“The funding will go towards both changing rooms and other facilities which can be enjoyed by the entire community.”
The total overall cost of the project is €208,000.
“This is a great day for Ballybofey United and I want to commend everyone at the club.
“All those involved in the club are volunteers who give countless hours towards all those they serve and help. The DLDC funding is most welcome and I’m delighted to have helped to secure it.”
Cllr Harley added that the funding is in addition to €36,000 in Sports Capital Funding from central Government announced by TD Joe McHugh late last year.
