DUNGLOE MAN JAMES BOYLE will feature in an RTÉ documentary tonight following the journey of the Irish Amputee Football Team to the Amputee World Cup in Mexico in December 2014.
The eldest son of Daniel and Breid Boyle, James was born with a deformed leg and a heart condition that required major surgery at Crumlin Childrens Hospital when he was just three days old.
When he was six, he had his left leg amputated and has worn a prosthetic limb ever since.
Ireland lost their three games at the World Cup, 2-0 against Brazil, 6-1 against Uzbekistan and 2-0 against Ukraine.
At the time, Boyle – who was 16 – was described as ‘the youngest and most naturally gifted player in the squad’.

Boyle netted Ireland’s only goal of the tournament when he scored a penalty against Uzbekistan.
