First under-16 hurling match ever held in Dungloe was played on Friday night with the Dungloe lads proving what a fine outfit they are when the entire squad is available .
They crushed Carndonagh on a scoreline of 11-13 to 1-3 in a comprehensive and complete team performance. There were very impressive individual displays from players in every sector with special credit going to Kyle Wiggins , Harry Noble, Jack Greene and cousins Padraig Sweeney and Sean McGee, with the latter two shading men of the match. Padraig for great hooking and blocking and ground covered and Sean for direct running at the Carn defence and a personal score of 4-3
The challenge for this small panel is to keep the team together and they are certain silver wear contenders.
The team was, Philip Rodgers, Lochlainn O’Dea, David Hanlon, Odhran McGonagle , Padraig Sweeney, Thomas Hartnett, Brendan Boyle , Kyle Wiggins , Nicholas Whereley , Darren O’Donnell, Sean McGee, Harry Noble, James Hartnett, Jack Greene, Noah Boyle, Oisin Campbell, Joe Greene, Mathew O’Donnell.
