Our ladies were playing in the Maura O Donnell Trophy and had a great result at home.
Well done to Laura Mc Elhinney and John Chambers who won both our Centenary Cups at the weekend. John is certainly on a golden run at the moment. He is certainly worth keeping an eye on for the President’s prize.
I have no doubt that Paul will receive a lot of bets for John chambers to succeed on the third Sunday in a row. Well done to James Brogan who was successful in Saturday’s open Competition. It is great to see his name in the prizes again.
Congratulations to Lady Captain Mabel Gillespie for organising a very successful Bring and Buy Sale in The Square on the afternoon of Sunday 12th July. Raising over €2,500, proceeds from the sale will purchase a defibrillator for the club with the remainder going to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, CROI.
It is James, our president’s week this week, and it would be great if everyone would support all his competitions during the week. There is a competition to suit everyone. Let’s hope the weather is good for the week ahead. The President’s scramble is at 5pm on Friday and is 18 holes. This is a change from our normal Friday scrambles. It is important that everyone registers with the shop by 3pm on Friday to play in the scramble.
Open Week starts on the 22nd of July and there are great prizes on offer each day. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us during open week. All details are on our Website and make sure to let all your golfer friends know of the different competitions during Open Week.
There is great food on offer in the clubhouse. We have a lovely meu and different specials each day. The chef is in the clubhouse Wednesday – Sunday, but will also be there every day during open week.
