This game played in glorious conditions under the floodlights at Carrickboyle saw the visitors leave with all three points following a tight encounter.
Swilly got off to the best possible start when just five minutes in a defensive error allowed Mark Wilson to tap in from 5 yards to make it 1-0.
As the half went on the home side began to push and seen decent chances for Noel Sweeney, Shaun McFadden and Odhran Mc Fadden, however Dean Dunworth in the Swilly nets done well on each occasion.
The visitors made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time when good play by Oran Higgins and Shaun Crossan on the counter attack was well finished by Stephen Gallagher.
Swilly looked dangerous on the counter attack and they caught United in the 72nd minute when Gallagher made it 3-0 after a good run.
Odhran McFadden hit the crossbar and post for United, however it was just one of those nights for the home side.
They did pull one back in the 86th minute when Ciaran McFadden was brought down in the box for a penalty after good work. Jamie McGee converted the spot kick to make it 3-1 on the night.
Shaun Crossan, Stephen Gallagher and Oran Higgins excelled for Swilly and Odhran McFadden was outstanding for United.
